Chevrolet has released the first-ever pursuit-rated Silverado 1500 for use by police departments. Known as the Silverado PPV (Police Pursuit Vehicle), the truck comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that puts out 355 horsepower and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2023 Silverado PPV comes with upgrades such as 20-inch rims with all-terrain tires as well 16-inch rotors instead of the standard 13-inch ones on the Silverado 1500 WT. The PPV version of the Silverado will come with a crew cab with plenty of space for rear passengers, as well as a short cargo box.
The rugged Silverado PPV can tow up to 9,300 pounds. A 2-inch suspension lift is optional, allowing pursuits on a wide variety of terrains, from roads to dirt paths to steep, rocky inclines. Special shocks, a skid plate, and a locking rear differential make the Silverado PPV even more durable in an off-road chase.
The interior of the Silverado PPV has plenty of space for police gear, and the front middle seat can be removed to maximize cabin space. Chevy has made it easy to customize the Silverado PPV with features like an optional bed tonneau cover.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado PPV is set to be released this summer. Stay tuned to our blog or give Don Hall Chevrolet a call for more details about this model and the brand’s other Silverado variants.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer with its highest honor, the Top Safety Pick+ award. The Top Safety Pick+ category indicates vehicles that perform exceptionally well in crash tests and have high-level crash avoidance technologies.
The prestigious Top Safety Pick+ award is hard to come by. To be a Top Safety Pick, a vehicle has to get high ratings in six different crash tests. Crash prevention tech is what earns the Plus.
The Trailblazer earned a score of “Good,” the highest possible score, on all its crash tests, as well as a top Superior score for its vehicle-to-vehicle crash prevention. The Trailblazer even had to earn a high rating for its headlights.
Part of what helped earn the Trailblazer the Top Safety Pick+ award is its standard Chevy Safety Assist package. Chevy Safety Assist is a suite of six driver assist technologies. These included Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking as well as Front Pedestrian Braking, both of which were tested by the IIHS.
Chevy Safety Assist also comes with Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, which helps drivers avoid drifting into other lanes. Intellibeam High Beam Assist is also standard on the 2022 Trailblazer and toggles the high beam headlights on and off depending on current traffic.
Give a head nod to the Trailblazer’s latest accolade when you take one for a whirl here at Don Hall SuperCenter in Ashland, Kentucky.
Both the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay® are great technologies that let you access your phone apps and content while you drive safely. But the convenience of Wireless Apple CarPlay® gives it a leg up over the wired version and makes it well worth the cost.
It’s a big hassle to have to keep track of the right cords, make sure you have extras to charge or sync your phone with and plug the phone in any time you want to use Apple CarPlay®. Wireless Apple CarPlay® makes it so much simpler. You can instantly connect to the system without messing around with cords.
Getting rid of cords has the added bonus of decluttering your car. Wireless Apple CarPlay® makes your cabin feel a little tidier.
No drop in quality
You might worry that using Wireless Apple CarPlay® will result in a lag or that the audio quality will be lower than if you use a wired connection. But thanks to Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC), Apple’s very own audio file compression technology that preserves the quality of the original, music over Wireless Apple CarPlay® is just as high-quality.
Wireless charging pads
One concern with using Wireless Apple CarPlay® is that you can’t charge your phone while you use it. Streaming music or using GPS can be a major battery drain, so this is a valid concern. But with the advent of wireless charging pads, it’s not a problem anymore.
If your car is equipped with a wireless charging pad, you can stream your favorite content and charge at the same time without the mess of cords.
Test-drive a 2022 Chevy equipped with Wireless Apple CarPlay® here at Don Hall SuperCenter or give us a call if you need help using this exciting new feature on your new Chevy vehicle.
A lifted truck boasts a modified suspension system, which adds height to the vehicle. Due to its raised suspension, the truck can ride on larger tires, adding to the vehicle’s overall height. However, this alteration to the suspension can cause other parts of your vehicle to require recalibration or replacement. A truck can also receive a body lift, which does not require additional adjustments.
Some Advantages to Consider
When you lift your truck, you’re giving it more than a striking appearance. In harsh weather, lifted trucks provide better traction and visibility. If you love off-road exploration, your lifted truck will help you traverse the roughest trails with its high ground clearance. And when it’s time to upgrade to a new car, a lifted truck will demand a higher resale value.
In the market for a tough, capable truck that’s perfect for a lift? Choose a Chevrolet Silverado or a GMC Sierra from Don Hall SuperCenter in Ashland, Kentucky. We’ll help match you with the right trim and configuration to fit your budget, lifestyle, and preferences.
The new year is a great time to wash off all the dirt, grime, and road salt that your car accumulated in 2021. On the outside, give it a thorough wash. Remember to pay special attention to the rims, wheel wells, and undercarriage, since these areas tend to trap rust-causing debris. Once your Chevy is clean, give it a thorough waxing to help protect it from the elements. Inside the cabin, remove trash, like wrappers, fast food bags, and empty bottles, then vacuum up leftover debris.
A breath of fresh air
Once the cabin is nice and clean, consider buying an air freshener or diffuser to give your car a fresh scent. Also, check your service records to see the last time you had the cabin air filter changed. An old cabin air filter can pump stale smells into your vehicle, so if it’s time for a new filter, have it swapped out so you can enjoy cleaner, fresher air.
Give your car a fresh look and feel with genuine Chevrolet accessories. A new set of floor mats and seat covers — both tailored to the model of your Chevy — can dress up a cabin with stained, worn upholstery. Cargo bay organizers help you keep clutter under control, and headrest-mounted tablet holders can help your little ones stay entertained on the road.
The new year is coming up, and that means it’s time to start making New Year’s resolutions. Commit to safer driving by making these resolutions in 2022.
1: Use your turn signal
Failing to signal when you change lanes or make a turn makes it harder for drivers around you to anticipate what you’re going to do. If you’re not in the habit of signaling when you change lanes, use this opportunity to change that.
2: Go the speed limit
Studies show that speeding doesn’t actually help you get where you’re going much faster. It might shave a minute or two off your drive depending on how far you’re going, but is it really worth it for the increased risk of an accident? Slow down in the new year.
3: Leave space
Tailgating is a dangerous habit, especially in the winter time. If you’re too close to the vehicle ahead of you and they need to stop suddenly, you might not have time to stop before crashing into them, potentially hurting them and you.
4: Reduce distractions
If you text or talk while you drive, resolve to eliminate those distractions in the coming year. Set up automatic responses while you’re driving so your phone won’t show you notifications, letting you keep your eyes on the road.
5: Stay up to date on vehicle maintenance
One of the best ways to drive more safely is to make sure your car is safe. Take care of your car and get regular maintenance done, such as oil changes and tire rotations. Having a tire blow out on the highway is a great way to get yourself and other cars into an accident.

And finally, this update even enhances your vehicle’s navigation system. Now, you’ll be able to view Super Cruise-compatible roads and pick routes that enable hands-free driving.
Super Cruise has been continuously improving since it debuted back in 2017. Currently, it’s compatible with over 200,000 miles of roadway throughout the United States and Canada. Every year, it seems like Chevrolet finds some way to improve the already-incredible Silverado 1500. It seems that 2022 model year is no exception for the innovative automaker, either. Here’s some of the updates you can expect on the new 2022 Silverado 1500.
A new interior

Though good looks are important, Chevy has also updated its Silverado 1500 to be even more capable for 2022. The 2.7-liter powertrain now produces even more torque than before, and the diesel powertrain model is now capable of towing up to 13,300 pounds.
An off-road variant
Catering to its most adventurous customers, Chevy is introducing an all-new ZR2 trim level to the existing Silverado 1500 lineup. This fierce trim level comes with a host of off-road ready features for you to tackle to trails with, like a two-inch lift, skid plates, 33-inch tires, and Multimatic shocks and springs.
