When you’re a teen, you care about your vehicle’s style and speed; but as a parent, your number one priority shifts to safety. Fortunately, Chevrolet engineers design their vehicles to offer award-winning protection. At Don Hall SuperCenter, we’re not asking the Ashland community to just take our word for it — take it from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
For the 2022 model year, the NHTSA has awarded the 5-Star Overall Safety Rating to the Chevy Trax, Trailblazer, Equinox, Blazer, and Camaro. To achieve this prestigious designation, each Chevy model underwent a series of crash tests. The test results showed top scores in front, side, and rollover safety.
The NHTSA also looks for specific safety features when deciding winners. It just so happens that many of the recommended advanced technologies are included in the Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver assistance features, like Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and more.
The 2022 Trailblazer, Equinox, and Blazer are each equipped standard with Chevy Safety Assist. Meanwhile, Chevy’s unique Teen Driver technology comes standard on the Trailblazer, Equinox, Blazer, and Camaro. This innovative tech allows parents to set a speed alert, limit speaker volume, and review a vehicle report card. It even keeps the vehicle in Park until the driver’s seat belt is fastened.
Chevrolet promises peace of mind with award-worthy safety technology. To learn more or take a test drive, contact our team at Don Hall SuperCenter in Ashland, Kentucky.
The new year is coming up, and that means it’s time to start making New Year’s resolutions. Commit to safer driving by making these resolutions in 2022.
1: Use your turn signal
Failing to signal when you change lanes or make a turn makes it harder for drivers around you to anticipate what you’re going to do. If you’re not in the habit of signaling when you change lanes, use this opportunity to change that.
2: Go the speed limit
Studies show that speeding doesn’t actually help you get where you’re going much faster. It might shave a minute or two off your drive depending on how far you’re going, but is it really worth it for the increased risk of an accident? Slow down in the new year.
3: Leave space
Tailgating is a dangerous habit, especially in the winter time. If you’re too close to the vehicle ahead of you and they need to stop suddenly, you might not have time to stop before crashing into them, potentially hurting them and you.
4: Reduce distractions
If you text or talk while you drive, resolve to eliminate those distractions in the coming year. Set up automatic responses while you’re driving so your phone won’t show you notifications, letting you keep your eyes on the road.
5: Stay up to date on vehicle maintenance
One of the best ways to drive more safely is to make sure your car is safe. Take care of your car and get regular maintenance done, such as oil changes and tire rotations. Having a tire blow out on the highway is a great way to get yourself and other cars into an accident.
The Don Hall SuperCenter team wishes you and yours a happy and safe New Year’s. Make sure to contact us for all of your vehicle’s needs in 2022.
